Necessary garden tools

Hi again. I thought I would share with you my top five favorite tools for my little backyard garden. I have lots of gardening tools but there are a few that I couldn’t do without.

  1. A sturdy shovel: The one below is the first garden tool I purchased. At $19, it’s a steal. I use it for turning over beds, moving compost, etc. You can find it here.

2. A handy spade shovel: This is small but so useful. I use it for potting my houseplants and of course for digging little holes. This one has a nice gel handle too.

3. A hori knife: I love this garden tool. I use it for planting bulbs since it has a handy ruler on it. I use it for trimming certain types of plants back. I use it for digging sometimes (very carefully). I bought mine on Amazon but there is a similar one here.

4. The right sized hose: The first hose I ever bought was terrible. It was a no-kink contractor’s hose and it was too heavy to move around. And it did kink! Two years ago I bought this hose and it is so much better. It is expandable so once it drains it is easy to move around and roll up. Plus, it never kinks! I like the sprayer head that came with it too. Just make sure you don’t let it freeze over the winter.

5. Sweet pruning shears: I really like these ones. They stay super sharp and let you make exact cuts. They don’t hurt your hands either and are very lightweight.

Like I said, I have lots of garden tools but these are the ones I use regularly. Once you are inspired you can use these to do anything!
